When Han Solo entered the Imperial Academy, he was already a good swoop and speeder pilot. His nickmane was slick because in class once he made a slick move in a malfunctioning load lifter. His best friend was Mako Spince and they did a lot of practical jokes together. Two years before Han graduated, Spince was kicked out of the Empire for a practical joke. Han graduated with honors, and went into the Imperial Starfleet. During this time, he was at a slave camp where he saw a Wookiee being punished. He couldn't stand seeing this, so he saved the Wookiee, and was expelled from the Empire for his "kind heart".
He met up with Mako again, who taught him to smuggle. Han began to gamble a lot, and he won his pride, the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian in a game of sabacc. Chewbacca and Han left Mako for the Lawless Corporate sector, where they did a lot of runs for crime lords, including Jabba the Hutt. They were joined on they're runs by Bollux and Blue Max, his supercomputer.
On one fateful run, the Imperials pulled him over, so he dropped his cargo (spices) to avoid arrest. That upset Jabba the Hutt, who the run was for, and they went to see Jabba on Tatooine. First they stopped in a little cantina in Mos Eisley spaceport...
During A New Hope, Han was part of the team to rescue Princess Leia from the first Death Star, and after some convincing from his friend Chewbacca (we assume), he helped Luke Skywalker destroy the Death Star. In The Empire Strikes Back, he had the intent of going to pay back Jabba, but he never got there. The new secret base was attacked , and Han flew the Millennum Falcon to safety (or so they thought) in Cloud City. He was then frozen in carbonite,
"I do not want the Emperor's prize damaged. We will test it... on Captain Solo."
to see if it would harm Luke for his journey to the Emperor, and he was taken to Jabba the Hutt, frozen alive. He was quickly rescued in Return Of The Jedi by Luke, and they rejoined the Alliance, and perpared to take on the Empire's new challenge, the second Death Star, which was bigger than the first (exact dimensions on The Battle Of A Lifetime page).
He was the commander of the stolen shuttle, which was to travel to Endor, bypass the deflector shield, and destroy the Shield Generator to allow Lando Calrissian and Admiral Ackbar's fleet to destroy the DEATH STAR.
