• Structuring :- The basic steps consisted in structuring of your Artifact are
    1. Rolling :- The silver bars are rolled into sheets of required thickness and cut into appropriate shape.
    2. Shaping :- The sheet is beaten on an iron frame with a hammer imparting it the primary structure of the part being created.
    3. Molding :- The parts of the product, which are solid are made by this process. Molten silver is poured in iron dies to give it a form of rough mold. Later the designs are crafted on them.

  • Carving :- The patterns in harmony with nature are imprinted on these master pieces by following processes:-
    1. Embossing : - The front portion of the surface to be ornamented is placed inverted on molten lac mound. After the lac solidifies, from the rear side some specific patterns are embossed by hand, which ascents on the front side. Now again the rear side is fixed in lac and carving is done on the front side. This process is repeated until the desired motifs are embellished.
    2. Net-cutting :- The ornamented surface is placed on molten lac mound. After the lac solidifies, from the top some specific patterns are cut by hammering pointed tools over marked outlines.
    3. Engraving :- Ornament designs are incised with a chisel manually.

  • Finishing :- In this procedure all the pieces are put together and the soul is imparted to the Artifact.
    1. Soldering :- After the different parts of the artifact are finely carved, these are now put together by soldering with molten silver of 70% purity.
    2. Filing :- The coarse structure surface is worked upon by thin filing tools and the edges created in netcutting and soldering are rounded.
    3. Polishing :- Time for taking ‘The First Bath’. The sullied Craft Piece is washed in diluted Hydrochloric Acid & Water which removes all the dirt and other foreign particles giving it an immaculate look. Now Chiseling and Manual Buffing is done to confer the Artifact a luster and scrub away the tool marks to a minimum.
    4. Lacfiling :- Some times Lac is filled in the Furniture to provide solidity, like in Table Legs. Molten Lac is poured in the hollow structure with an iron rod in the middle. After the Lac solidifies the iron rod helps holding the Glass Top. The Lac strengthens the inner surface to avoid dent.
