10th - ALABAMA,TENNESSEE, OHIO - LINE OF TORNADOES - 36 DEAD - 100 injured - dozens of homes destroyed.


3rd - PAKISTAN - 4.5 EARTHQUAKE - 17 DEAD - 65 injured and four villages extensively damaged by the quake and subsequent mudslides.

27th - NORTHWESTERN EUROPE - POWERFUL WINDSTORM - 24 DEAD - Falling trees killed six people in Britain, six people died in the Netherlands, five died in Germany, four in northern France, two in Belgium and one in Switzerland.

20th - RUSSIA - HYPOTHERMIA - 314 DEAD this winter. Continued to claim lives in Moscow despite the warmer weather, with five people freezing to death last weekend.


21st - TURKEY - MODERATE 4.7 EARTHQUAKE - 1 DEAD - A construction worker was killed when the earthquake tossed him off a scaffolding.
