Major Ballachey is a Public Elementary School, that goes from Kindergarten to Grade 8. We have our own Design & Tech and Family Studies rooms. Which is pretty cool because we don't have to drag ourselves to another school once a cycle!! Our gym is pretty big. It has 5 basketball nets, 2 volleyball nets, and 2 hockey nets. We have a stage which we use for talent shows, plays and graduations. Outside, we have 2 baseball diamonds, a basketball court and a long jump pit. On the playground we have a garden which is bordered by benches. Up front there is a fenced in area with bikes, hopscotch, balls, toys and a sandbox for the Kindergartens.
Our principals name is Mrs. Inglis, and our Vice Principals name is Mr. Mayhew. Our librarian is Mr. Badger, and our French teacher, Mme McDonald, also teaches Art and Music.
Mr. Cohoon, the grade 8 teacher, also teaches gym to the grade sixes. Mr. Knuckle, grade 7 teacher, is the head of the Student Council. Also there is: Mrs. Noddin- grade 6, Mrs. Gragg-4&5, Mr. Dutchuck-grade 3&4, Mr. Robert's-grade 2&3, Mrs. Vansickle-grade 2, Mrs. Pulhum- grade 1&2, Mrs. MacDonald-grade1, Mrs. O-senior kindergarten and Mrs. McKay is the junior kindergarten teacher.
