I am 41 years old, and an anglo/italian hybrid!
I was born in Suffolk, England back in July 1966 the year England won the World Cup...the ONLY year England won the world cup!
Soon after we moved to Sassuolo, Modena in Italy...an excellent
part of the world!
I was brought up there, the daughter of a 5*
Hotelier.
My bedroom as a child had very dim lighting, tea and coffee making facilities, a room service telephone and I remember always washing with tiny soaps...oh and there were just 4 coathangers in the wardrobe! (Just kidding!)
This is me, when I was about five years old.
The photo was
taken in Italy and those two handsome chaps are my cousins Alessandro and Giuseppe.
My parents divorced (thank goodness - at last!) when I was 16. I then went to live in Nottingham
(home of Robin Hood and his merry men in tights!)
There I met Bryn and together we have travelled around an awful lot since.
The travelling started with many trips around the UK and Italy...
before I even met Bryn I had lived for a year in Los Angeles, and I
travelled
up and down that coast, as you do... and also went to
Las Vegas twice as you do!
When we first married, Bryn was offered a
project in Ryadh, Saudi Arabia.
Ryadh is the pits of the earth,
the most oppressive place you can think of! It left us speechless.
From Ryadh to Dubai and WOW!
What a difference!
So, apart from the travelling around Europe, we have visited Hong Kong, Mexico, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Singapore (one of my favourite destinations), Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in Australia,Thailand and Syria, Lebanon, Bahrain and Oman.

I am a freelance writer (but please don't judge me by the contents of these very informal pages!) and write
articles and a regular IT column for a Dubai magazine called Connector. I am also a contributing editor to a parenting magazine called Emirates Parent. In the past I have also had articles published in the Sydney Morning Herald, a UK magazine called Cat World and Woman magazine. One of my favourite movies is LOVE ACTUALLY and also RATRACE - those of you who have seen Ratrace must still be laughing! My favourite part is when Enrico Pollini (Rowan Atkinson) picks up a cocktail sausage and says "Ohhh cock-dog!"
