At the meeting on 14 Feb. 2003 Chairperson Wilson announced that Kent Branch is obtaining their own domain name. It will contain the new (up-dated) web pages of Kent Branch O.G.S, and will be hosted by a local Internet Provider.

Nov. 8th, 2002 Bev Snobelen, assistant archivist, presents information pertaining to Chatham-Kent Municipal records. She will discuss the availability of those records for our perusal.
Dec. 13th, 2002 Jane Hodgins, a descendant of Robert Baldwin, will be our guest speaker at our annual Christmas Banquet. This event will take place at Victoria United Church at the corner of Victoria and Grand. Tickets are on sale at the O.G.S. Library at the Main Library, Chatham. The time of the banquet is 6:30 and tickets are $15.00.
Jan. 12th, 2003 Tanya Neave, curator with Chatham-Kent Museum will give a presentation on the history of quilting and the uniqueness of each quilt. Quilts often involved family history. Tanya will also explain methods of preserving cherished quilts.
Feb. 14th, 2002 Margaret Eberle, a member of Kent O.G.S., brings to us the Tweedsmuir Histories. The Women's Institute provided many rural women with friendship, challenges and fellowship. The Tweedsmuir Histories are community histories, farm histories, church histories, often accompanied by photographs. Margaret's presentation will focus on the area of Palmyra.
March 14th, 2003 Dick Doherty of Michigan is our featured speaker. He is an expert on Irish histories. Dick speaks all over the world and we are fortunate to enlist him as our March speaker as he is booked for the 2003 Spring Conference in Cornwall. This is a a presentation of very high calibre.
Please start spreading the word about Dick Doherty, renowned authority on Irish genealogy, who is to be speaking March 14th, 2003 at the Wish Centre at 7:00 p.m. The public is welcome as well.
Wanted: Region I Director
-an energetic, enthusiastic person to take on a position of responsibility for Region 1 as Regional Director
-two year term starting after Seminar 2003
-represent Lambton, Kent and Essex Branches at five board of directors meetings in Toronto
-attend executive and monthly meetings of the three branches (there is not an obligation to attend all meetings)
-chair the Region 1 annual meeting usually held in October
