Richard's final show featured the Mackin family from San Jose, shuting out the Murphy family (left with $5,665) and also won in Fast Money, for a one-day, and only-day total of $5,504.
Because it was the final show, both families were each rewarded with a $100 lollipop.
The show itself did not return until July 1988, when it was hosted by the late Ray Combs. Richard Dawson did one more season in September 1994 and the second series ended.
The third series began in September 1999, with a whole new set and design and hosted by Louie Anderson. Cash prizes were $10,000 and then $20,000 in September 2001. Richard Karn took over in September 2002, where a family can win up to five straight games and win as much as $100,000 if they win Fast Money all five times. In September 2006, John O'Hurley took over the show and is the current host.
