My '65 Lemans

PIC

This is my latest project....a new home for the 455 I built.

I originally put the 455 into my '69 Grand Prix , but now the orig 400 is back in and Grand Prix which I sold to my brother-in-law.

I've moved the 455 and a rebuilt TH350 into the lighter and more "muscle" looking Lemans.

I liked this car because it had buckets seats, console shift, burgundy paint, and black interior. A perfect project for what I wanted to to.

* UPDATE * 11/02/2004

I did it! I finally got in the 12's on real street tires!
Went to Lebanon Valley on Oct 28, 2004. It was nice and cool, and I've made a few changes since last time. Including home porting the heads, addding a carb spacer, changing the shift RPM, etc. Ran a best of 12.615 at 107.94 MPH. Again, I did this on my 255/60/15 radial tires, same pressure and the 2 hour drive each way. Here is the complete timeslip:
1.903
5.265
8.082
87.44
10.553
12.615
107.94

* UPDATE * 08/01/2003

I finally got to a track with this car on July 25, 2003 at Maple Grove in PA. I ran best of 13.219 at 103.7 on my 255/60/15 radial tires, same pressure and the 4 hour drive each way. Here is the complete timeslip:
2.030
5.553
8.489
83.16
11.048
13.219
103.70

I think just maybe I CAN make my goal of 12's on real street tires!

Here are a couple pics from my first car show :)
