CHASE
We are families who share he common bond of having children with cardiac problems. We meet together for education and support.
Our goal is to provide support and education for families of children with heart disease.
When a child is born healthy, all the hopes and dreams of the parents come true, but when that child has heart problems, the family's whole focus changes.
As parents, we may feel anxious, frustrated and isolated by having a child with CHD (congenital heart defects). We want to share our experiences with others in the same circumstances.
CHASE was formed in February 1984 in response to the growing need for a support group for families of children with CHD.
WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU:
provide information on pediatric heart disease and
related issues through regular education.
provide support meetings.
share common concerns and experiences.
maintain a parent-to-parent support family network.
publishes a regular newsletter.
holds an annual family picnic
holds other social functions thru the year for the kids.
contacts other cardiac support groups to exchange information and ideas.
works with the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario Cardiology Division.
MEETINGS CHASE holds monthly meetings every second Wednesday of the month (occasional cancellations, please call first). Meetings are held at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children.
