| Did you hear? Darin wrote a play called The Common Itch. The Band of Humans and actors and dancers performed it at the Donald Oat Theater in Norwich CT. It was a lot of hard work and it payed off. The audiences seemed to enjoy it and many said the play made them think about stuff.... I consider that a great success. We will be performing the play again soon. check our gig dates page to find out when. | ||

Robert joins the Band!'
Kurt Meyer, the very cool fretless bass player, has left the band. We are sorry to see him go. He has been with the band since it's birth and has been a tremendous addition in forming the unique sound and quality of the music BOH creates. He has been our sound man, electronics man, and gig getter. A Tremendous asset to BOH all around. Thank you Kurt for your spirit, creativity and hard work. We will miss you. Now we are pleased to announce Robert Stanley as our new bass player. He too has much to offer and we hope you come to gigs to cheer him on as we "break him in!" |

From Big NOISE Song Slam 2000's 'Grand Slam' Competition!! |

|
Band of Humans is officially entered into the international song competition 'Unisong!' On Saturday, May 13, Band of Humans performed at the Big NOISE Song Slam 2000's 'Grand Slam' at The Century Lounge in Providence, RI. For the first time ever, the audience voted for which songs would represent all Big NOISE artists at 'Unisong.' The Band of Human's song selected by the audience was 'Rain.' The song will now be sent to 'Unisong,' along with songs by the other 'Grand Slam' artists. In September, a panel that includes Elvis Costello, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, and Doug Herzog, the president of VH-1, will then choose one artist to fly to Ireland for two weeks to record a new song at U2's studio for a benefit album. The winner will also perform at a benefit concert and attend an all-star song writing seminar. A second artist will be awarded a one-year publishing contract with EMI Music. Band of Humans unique acoustic-based style of original music won them the bid to compete in the Grand Slam Finale on May 13. During the first round, the band performed March 18th at the Providence club in the "Modern Rock" category. They topped bands from New York City; Cincinnati, Ohio; Boston, Mass.; Hartford and Providence. The group was selected, along with 10 other bands, from 118 bands that competed in an eleven week competition. |
