You would be suprised how many hotels & resorts are in disney world. It's better to saty on the disney property if your planing a trip. Below is a list of the resorts and hotels:

Prices can range from 80 to 400 dollars a night.
If you want your hotel to be on the monorail track then stay at the Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian or the Polynesian Resort. Even if you don't stay at those resorts but you are a wdw resort guest then you can stil use monorail. Other WDW resort guest transportation are buses and boats. At Walt Disney World you really don't need a car.
If you stay in WDW you can go to the Parks before they officialy open. It's called Early Entry (EE). EE days for the Magic Kingdom is Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. EE Days for Disney-MGM Studios are Wednesday and Sunday. EE days for Epcot is Tuesday and Friday. There are no EE days for the Animal Kingdom becuase it opens at 7 AM. There are no EE days for the water parks either.
The All-Star Movies Resort opens January 1999.
