Chapter 4

The three girls hopped on their bus after playing the Hollywood Bowl, completely worn out.

"Wow, that was a great show!" Darcy exclaimed, wiping sweat off her forehead.

"Yeah, the audience sure was hyped." Danielle said, sitting down in a chair.

"Well, the tour's over." Emma said sadly. "But I'm glad to be going home."

"Emma, we're not going home." Darcy said. "We're going to visit Kim. Remember?"

"Oh my gosh! You're right!"

"Yeah, I can't wait. I've missed her so much!" Danielle said.

"Me too." Emma added.

"Maybe she can help us with our song." Darcy suggested.

"Yeah!" Emma squealed.

"Tulsa, here we come!" Danielle screamed.

The three girls jumped on the couch giggling.

"WAKE UP, WE'RE HERE!" Jacob called from the front of the bus.

Emma was the first to sit up and look around. "We're here!" she shouted gleefully.

Danielle and Darcy got up too. "Yay!" they said in unison.

They looked out the window at the large brick house that was so familiar. There was a lake behind it that they used to swim in when they were kids.

A girl with long brown hair walked out of the house and ran toward the bus. "There's Kim!" Darcy yelled, pointing.

All three ran out of the bus. "Kim!" Emma yelled.

"Hi ya'll!" Kim said, giving them each a friendly hug. "How are you?"

"Tired." Emma said.

"Hungry." Darcy said as her stomach growled.

Everyone laughed. "I'm just glad to be here." Danielle said, hugging her cousin once again.

"Well, come inside." Kim said, motioning them in.

"I'll be back in a little while!" Kim called through the house.

It was late Saturday afternoon. Darcy and Emma were asleep, and Emma was pestering Kim's dog Scooby-Doo. "Okay!" Emma yelled back. "Where are you going?"

"To the music store."

"Okay, see you in a little while!" Emma yelled back.

Kim stood in the store, looking around. She had come to buy a new guitar. She had been given $500.00 for her 19th birthday, and had decided to use part of it toward a new guitar.

She had her eye on a Gibson that was sitting up on a shelf. She decided to get it down and test it.

She reached up for it at the same time as someone else did.

She looked over at the other person. He had shoulder length dirty blond hair, and the most gorgeous brown eyes she had ever seen. He looked really familiar to her. "Sorry." she mumbled, and pulled her hand away from the guitar.

"No, you take it." he said.

"Thanks."

"So, do you play?" he asked, right before realizing that was a VERY stupid question.

"Yeah." she said, giving him a strange look.

"Cool." he said.

There was a silence while Kim began to stum the guitar. She began to play "Northern Star." by Hole.

"Wow, you're good. I love that song." he said.

"Thanks, I've been playing for a long time." she replied. "Yeah, it's my favorite song."

"So what's your name?" he asked.

"Kimberly Jones." she paused. "Everyone calls me Kim."

"Hi." he said, shaking her hand. "I'm Isaac Hanson."

"I knew I'd seen you somewhere!" Kim said. "You're one of those Hanson brothers, right?"

"Yeah." Isaac said. He didn't know if being a Hanson brother was a good thing or a bad thing.

"Cool! My cousins love you guys!" Kim smiled. "And I love your music."

"Thanks." Isaac said. "Hey, do you wanna maybe do something tonight?"

"Sure, I'd love to." Kim said. "What did you have in mind?"

"We could go out for pizza or something." Isaac suggested.

"That sounds cool."

"Okay, do you want me to pick you up...or what?" Isaac asked.

Kim reached in her purse and pulled out a slip of paper and a pen. She wrote down her number. "I need to check on a few things at home first...call me later and I'll tell you."

"Okay."

"Well, I'd better be going." Kim said, replacing the guitar on the shelf. "I'll talk to you soon."

"Okay, see ya." Isaac said.
