OK, lads
so where've you been then?
Taylor: We took a break, and we've matured, that's about it really!
Zac: We never really stopped, so we're not making a comeback,
we've just recorded a new album, which has taken us a while. We calmed
the schedule down a bit because we were so busy we didn't have time to
do anything else.
Did you go on holiday?
Taylor: Yeah, the whole family flew out to Bali for a couple of
weeks, it was amazing! We had two villas and we just relaxed, it was out
of this world, man!
So what have you got new to offer us?
Isaac: There's loads of new tracks on the album - we wrote nearly 60
songs in total. A few of the songs we actually changed at the recording
stage. Like, Taylor hit this key and it was amazing and completely
changed the sound of the song so we kept it like that.
Taylor: That happened with a lot of the songs on the new album,
we're really pleased with the voerall effect, and we can't wait for
people to hear it! We're not just rock, there's so much more to us now!
Are you worried that you won't be as
successful as last time around?
Isaac: There are a whole load of bands out there and hopefully
there's plenty of room for us all!
Zac: People don't realise we're not a boyband, we're boys that
play instruments...there's a difference.
Isaac: You can't ever decide how successful you're going to be!
You just hope people are going to appreciate the music, because it's out
of your hands.
Have any of you learnt to play new
instruments?
Taylor: Yes, we've learnt the nose flute (obviously a private Hanson
joke as they stick their fingers up their noses) ha ha, only joking!
Nah, I've been learning the harmonica. Back on the first album I
played a tiny bit, but now I'm not too bad!
Are there any new additions to the
Hanson family?
Taylor: Not since Zoe was born just before we released the Snowed
In album at Christmas two years ago. She's a sweetie, the seventh
Hanson. We're not sure if there are plans for an eighth though, that's
up to mum and dad!
Do the family still travel with you?
Zac: Yeah of course. If we're on tour, they always come with us.
When we're only away a couple of days, they usually stay home in Tulsa.
Taylor: We always have at least one of our parents traveling with
us. It's cool as we're never on our own.
Are you still living in the same
house?
Zac: Yeah, we are. I don't think we'll ever move from there. We
never get any hassle there and when we go back it really feel s like
home. Tulsa is a lovely place to live - all our friends and family are
there.
Have you made lots of money?
Isaac: We've made more money than we'd ever imagined, and that was
only from our first album. But it's not about the money - the only thing
we spend money on is making better music.
Zac: Basically our money just sits in the bank, we haven't
touched a penny! The only extravagant things we've bought are quad
bikes, and that was two years ago!
What do you aim to achieve this year?
Isaac: We want to do a huge tour. We only did two dates in England
last time, so we're hoping to please the fans there!
Zac: We just want everyone to appreciate our music, we love
performing so much!
Last time we spoke you didn't have
girlfriends - are you dating now?
Taylor: We haven't got girlfriends, but we have been dating, and
that's all we'll say!
Isaac: If we did say we had girlfriends, our fans would find out
where they lived, what their names were and they'd just get hassled. But
at the moment we haven't, though we are dating. Does that answer your
question? (Errr, for now guys...)
