The Great Hanson.net E-mail Robbery After launching Hanson.net (charging customers $14.95 a month - about £9.80 -
for a full ISP service, or $6.95 - about £4.50 - for webspace and membership to Hanson.net, Hanson have introduced perhaps their strangest
competition yet. Hanson are encouraging their online fans to convert other fans, in a bid to earn a trip to meet Hanson at one of their shows.
Entrants can direct their 'convertees' towards http://www2.islanddefjam.com/contest/hanson/contest.html
where they'll have the option to enter your e-mail address as a referral. In theory, whoever sends the most converts wins the prize. Hanson have also revealed through Hanson.net that they are planning another website competition - but details are not yet available. We'll keep you posted! This Time Around pulled After disappointing sales for both comeback single 'If Only' (highest chart position 15, in its first week) and critically-acclaimed album 'This Time Around', Universal Mercury, Hanson's record company representatives in the UK, have sadly decided to pull the follow-up single 'This Time Around' which had been due out this week. The single was originally given a June 26th release date, but as reported by Hanson UK, it was put back to July 3rd (similar to 'If Only' which suffered several postponements before finally being released), and then disappeared completely from release-date boards. Universal Mercury have said that Hanson may not confirm a single date until during or after their tour is completed. Rumours persist that the single will be 'Runaway Run', one of three tracks on the album mixed by Ric Ocasek, who was later to leave the recording process after experiencing difficulties with new executives at Island Def Jam (Hanson's US record company) - Ocasek claimed the new execs didn't want Hanson to play their own instruments! |
