| You wanna start bumpin some hip beats, but you don't got none on your computer? Well check out these file-sharing programs to start your own personal collection of decent tracks. Napster
Reviewed by Traddy - Try and keep the classic file-sharing program alive. Although they are tied down to legal copyright mumbo-jumbo, this company started it all, and is trying to stay alive for what it stands for, it is introducing a membership system, but for now give it a try.
Reviewed by Tyler - I have no idea how good Napster is right now.. I deleted it back in the Summer of 2000 when all that lawsuit/membership/blocking of songs was going on.. I don't use it anymore, so I can't offer any good commentary on it.. Move along now, nothing to see here..
iMesh
Reviewed by Traddy - This program use to be okay to use as a replacement for Napster, but has now had its own problems, iMesh sometimes dosen't agree with computers, but the developers always try and release better versions. Just be careful with glitchy programs.
Reviewed by Tyler - I was in the process of cutting down iMesh for sucking against the competition when I decided to open it up, and the damn thing crashed my computer.. It's like it knew I was talking shit about it and would have nothing of it.. Well now I'm pissed off, because all of my updates were lost.. Anyways, I tried it again, and to my suprise, some of my downloads are actually going! I remember I queued some of that stuff WEEKS ago and I still didn't have it.. It's an easy to use, Napster-style deal, but the availability of songs/videos is a bit sketchy..
KaZaA
Reviewed by Traddy - KaZaA, in my personal opinion, is the best thing since old school Napster. This program finds every song I type in and has much more options then you could find on Napster, this is the best file-sharing program that I have come across in a long time, try it!
Morpheus
Reviewed by Tyler - Word on the street is that Morpheus and KaZaA are connected in some way but who the fuck knows and who the fuck wants to check? I just know I have Morpheus and I can download ish from people who have either program; and that's all the information I need.. Anyways, this program is excellent for downloading audio and video.. You can also get documents, images and software, but who the fuck does that? Ahh, probably a lot of people, but I never have, so I don't know how that ish goes down.. Um.. Fuck you, the end..
Audiogalaxy
Reviewed by Tyler - I had a hip hip happenin review all done for Audiogalaxy when the iMesh incident went down (see iMesh review).. I was all nostalgic, recollecting the times when Audiogalaxy was a P.O.S. website with a few tracks that anyone could download (no sign-up necessary).. How times have changed.. Now it's my personal favourite program for downloading music.. It's in a different format from the basic Napster-stylin' profilin' type dilly, but you get used to it pretty quickly if you aren't slow in the head.. Basically, it uses the website to search for songs, and downloads it from a dill they call a "satellite".. Ooh.. I'm not going in depth on how it works, but trust me, this program is tits.. You can get songs you can't find on other programs.. The only problems with this program is that users can only download audio (I'm over it, you should be too) and there is no track info (no bitrate, filesize, etc).. The only thing it shows is the song and it's availability, but most of the time it gives you quality full tracks.. You need to check it out just because you can find almost everything you want..
