Dial up internet sucks ass.. Don't get me wrong, in '97 it was the shit; you know, IRC chattin and downloading stuff off of peoples FSERVES (/me shouts out to IRC people WHAT WHAT).. But this is the oh-four, we gotta be upgrading, nomsayin?! In this day and age we've had high speed innanet for a while now.. Well, we don't have cable in parts of the F.I.L. and Ma Bell won't run any lines out to hooks a brother up.. They even said a couple years ago that they'd be hooksing it up but hey, you know what? I don't think I see any high speed.. Yeah I'm still on dial-up, that's cool and all but I'm not able to be doing all the fancypants stuff high speed folks do.. And the stuff I can do takes a lot longer.. You may not know this, but it took me 3 days to change the background colour on this page..

That's the site I always go to; it's the greatest.. Sometimes I get disconnected from the ol' interweb and this pop-up window comes up with the "page cannot be displayed" page and I have to reconnect.. Then when I reconnect, it doesn't bother to work anymore so I have to restart..

The bytes received and sent look about right, but the duration should be at least 15 minutes to have it be representative to true dial-up styles.. I'd go on Google to find a more accurate one that also didn't say Wanadoo on the top but I don't want to spend that time.. My favourite one is when I get disconnected right as I've just connected and the connection window is minimizing into the "two computers connected" icon.. Sometimes I wager bets on if the window will minimize fast enough and the icon will show up before I get disconnected..

One thing I noticed is that with the exception of people like Katie, the only people who play Freecell are people who are on dial-up and are waiting for pages to load.. I was forced to learn how to play Freecell because Solitare, Hearts, and Minesweeper got boring so I had to switch it up.. But I mean, if you're on high speed and play Freecell, that's cool; I'm not here to judge..

If you have dial-up innanet too, I feel for you.. But at least we have internet in some form.. If we didn't then where else would we get our hip midi beats and fake buckass naked Anna Kournikova pictures from?
