My day on August 16, 1998!

Lilith Fair!!!

Wow... What can I say but WOW?? I went to the Lilith Fair with a picture in my head of a bunch of tree-hugging man-hating chicks running around, and like a crappy performance from everyone else.... but all in all, the day was a surprise. It started out like this:
9:00 AM: Wake my ass out of bed, drink a few hundred coffees and stuff, shower get dressed, etc., etc.
10:00 AM: Get a call from Mikie that he's on his way over....
10:30 AM: Wait....
11:00 AM: Wait some mroe...
11:30 AM: Mikie FINALLY shows up and we drive down to Toronto
From 12:00- 4-ish: Shop around, eat and shop and eat.....
4:30pm: Get into the parking place outside of Ontario Place
sometime in the afternoon: Get to Ontario place and walk around for a bit.. eat and spend WAY too much money on the food
5:30 pm-ish: Enter the Amphitheatre with like.... 6 dollars and wait and wait and wait 5:30-10:00 PM: Sit through some performances... Chantal Kreviazuk, Paula Cole, Natalie Merchant (which were decent, but I don't particularly LOVE their music) 10:00 PM: Sarah enters the stage. Lights are out, the screaming fat-asses in front of us and the screaming kids next to us scream even LOUDER and get even MORE annoying as she breaks out into Sweet Surrender... from this point on, my eyes were locked on the stage/screen (we were too far away to see her up close). After Sweet Surrender....Building a Mystery, Witness, Elsewhere, Ice Cream (here's where I bawl my eyes out), Black and White, Possession, and then SOMETHING else, can't remember what. Sarah leaves the stage, people scream and get even fatter and more annoying by the second, she comes back out to play Adia, which REALLY helped calm down the fat-asses, and then she brought all of the other chickies onto the stage to sing.... a song. I don't remember what its called. All in all, it was a success, I FINALLY got to see My Sarah live in concert, I went with Mikie (only now I have to go to a concert of HIS choice, and get my ass beat in the pit), spent 3 dollars on a bottle of water, heard Sarah's BEST songs (even though she left out Path of Thorns and Good Enough), and achieved many blisters on my feet and a sore back. BUT.... I had the best time I've had in awhile... (although my mood was rather sucky).
11:10 PM(??): Make it to the shitty parking lot, sit there till like...11:45 and finally head home.
The rest of the night was basically the ride home which lasted about 4 minutes cuz I fell asleep... and then I went home and went to bed. That part was boring.... but Sarah DEFINITELY knows how to put on a good show. I recommend seeing her in concert some day.... for sure. She's only THE most awesomest chick on the face of this planet and her songs just.... like, kick-ass live. I could have sat maybe... 20 feet closer, and a whole mile or two away from those fat-asses but when it comes down to it, the show kicked some serious ass. Definitely a 5-star (25968029546 star) performance. Yay Jennie!!!
