GOOD Music..... or something.

Reasons why THESE bands are good :

Music and stuff...
Damn! Just... AWESOME! Pumpkins !!!!

Nice, eh? The Pixies!!!!!!!!

Again? More Pumpkins!!!!

Woohoo! The Doors

Daaaaaamn~ Jim Morrisson

Run your mouse over the pictures for the titles of the albums that just kick ass.. or some other stuff.... Hmmm.... where do I begin? Smashing Pumpkins!!! (Maybe because I just saw them live in concert and their talent and everything else is fresh in my mind)... Their talent is beyond words, at least for me, I've been their fan for quite a long time, before they were trendy (if they ever truly got trendy) but for awhile, at least. Luckily for me, I know a few people and they had favours to return, so at the very last minute I was rewarded with tickets to their concert at Massey Hall in Toronto....5th from the front, amazing seats, amazing view, amazing show, amazing people...Adore I must give them mad props for being so human as opposed to the other money-hungry Puff Daddies around the world.. the tour they are doing right now is all charity based, on youth groups for the most part.. the show I went to sent all proceeds to S.O.S, a program against youth and prostitution, etc., etc., and the 340some odd dollars that MY tickets went to, along with quite a few others, raised one-twenty-six thousand dollars, 30 some odd cents, an extreme amount of gratitude and respect was returned to the band for being so selfless. Personally, to me the tickets did not seem too expensive as I know it was NOT some selfish prick band who is entirely image, it was for a good cause and will help many people, a couple of which who I know... so for the time being, I am satisfied with the price of my tickets. I would honestly suggest to anyone who hasn't yet bought Adore to do so RIGHT away... it is an amazing album, extremely mellow and gratifying to listen to. From a musical standpoint, they have wonderful techniques in capturing emotions... their music takes me to a level of .... I dunno relaxation or some other bullshit like that, and I have been able to smile, sing, dance, sleep and cry to this album all the same. In general, it is an amazing album and I definitely recommend it.

Sarah McLachlan is in a world all her own. I have loved her since the days when she looked like a moron up until the time that she became insanely popular for her efforts towards the unity of women in music. The Lilith fair is something I respect and am looking forward to seeing this year, although, I feel that just because she came out with a new album and has made a couple more videos, her publicity to me seems to be at a time when it is too trendy... people say ''Sarah is the best!'' Ask them to name her albums, Fumbling Towards Ecstasyand they couldn't do it!!!! I'm not saying I'm some giant Sarah Groupie (although I am) but at least have some respect for her wonderful talent, and for the talent of the rest of her band. Sarah has the deepest lyrics and the most amazing melodies, tunes that both comfort and sadden you when you listen to her singing, her ability to touch me with a song is unbelievable and I thank her for existing. I went out and bought a songbook so I can play a few of my favourite songs (piano/guitar) .... if you want an album that ANYONE can enjoy, I recommend Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, it is mellow as well as thought provoking, and extremely touching... her songs hold a lot of meaning, and there is at LEAST one song that people can relate to, I guarantee it. She is an amazing amazing woman who needs to be appreciated for her TALENT and not her latest album. Listen up, people!!!

The Doors are (were) an amazing band, simply because they did change the face of music with their rebelliousness on stage and their way to put a threat and a comfort in the lyrics of the late Jim Morrison (who is, by the way, the sexiest man to ever have walked the face of this earth... him and James Dean). Jim, Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger and John Densmore made a band Waiting for the sunwith a name and a sound and a way to life all their own, enduring a few short years of fame which ended in the tragic death of a wonderful poet. Hey... I am not a pathetic little druggie who thinks ''hey, man, he's cool ... heh heh heh'' because those people disgust me. If you want some lyrics to pay attention to, listen to the Lizard King and invest in some music by the Doors. I promise you will look at music differently.

Pablo Honey Radiohead is a very strange band, and I give them much respect and I love their music.. from Pablo Honey to OK Computer, they have a wide variety of styles and moods in their music.... sung with velvety Thom Yorke's voice, extremely original and with wonderful use of their instruments, you can hear talent and talent and more talent (I need a fucking thesaurus) on The Bends for sure, and I promise (guarantee) that this album is one that can be played and overplayed and not sound like a broken record. Ok Computer

Eddie Daniels is a jazz artist... he plays the clarinet, and likely none of you have heard of him. I didn't hear about him until my school put on a music night and Greg my buddy played one of his songs as a tribute to Mr. Alfano, only the GREATEST music teacher on the face of the earth, and with the beautiful music flowing through the school cafetorium and the look on Alfano's face, made me cry.. it was likely the most beautiful moment of my life, regardless of whether or not Mikie was in existence at that point, I had never felt so at peace with myself at that point, and so strongly for music at that point either. The Album is Beautiful Love and it is the kind of music that you would cuddle up with some cognac on the couch in front of the fire with the snow falling on.... he makes the clarinet sing. Go out and buy it! What are you waiting for??? Beautiful Love

Tori Amos... holy SHIT what can I say about this girl? I would consider her one of my idols.. her fingers can work amazing chords and sounds on her piano and all I have to say is that she is one of the least trendy and most original women on this planet.. without her, I would likely... well, not have her albums, but... without her, music would definitely not be the same. Boys for Pele

Well Where else can I go? Hmm... the Pixies!!! A fun, eighties rock/pop band... very fun and really fucking weird.. their best albums are Doolittle or Surfer Rosa... both very good and definitely strange... around this point at night I lose the abillity to come up with describing words (those are adjectives right?) so .... strange and weird and fun are about as good as it gets. Their lead singer, Black Francis, went solo a few years ago ... now known as Frank Black and still as weird as in the 80s... I dunno what else can I say? They're good!

Last band on my list at this moment is The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Their funky alternative weird music is... weird and ... fun... GET ME A GODDAMED THESAURUS PLEASE and Blood Sugar Sex Magik is the COOLEST album (coolest?) I've ever heard.. tons of fun (wasn't that the name of a porn?) so go out and buy it because I'm running out of steam.

I'd continue on with this one, but its almost 5 am and I have some other pages to work on : ) SOOO Wait a few days and I'll have some more pics up as I keep scanning for good ones, and I'll write up with even MORE similar words a couple more review on albums/performers. I have yet to get to Joe Satriani. Here for the continuance of my babbling.
