1977 Chevy Impala 4 Door

This was my first real attempt to win best painted car. We spent at least 10 hours lettering, and painting the pictures on it. We didn't win, but we should have. I paid $75.00 for this car from a guy who saw my other derby cars and said he had one I could buy just up the road. I drove it home! I finished second in my heat in the 1994 Belleville derby, but I tore up the spider gears in my rear end and couldn't make the feature. I ended up winning my first ever trophy for being Most Sportsmanlike Driver. I replaced the rear end gears and took it to the Fall Madoc Derby where the car took the worst beating I have ever been in.
