My 2nd
Great Grand Mother
Cordelia was the 2nd child & 1st daughter of Cyrus and Harriet Day. She married Milo Harvey Gibson 20 March 1854 in possibly Monroe County, Iowa. He died while serving in the Civil War from Small Pox. Her 2nd marriage was to Francis Marion Morford Abt. 17 May 1868 in Monroe County, Iowa. She is buried with Francis in Calvery Cemetery, Malvern, Mills County, Iowa. After their marriage, Francis assisted Cordelia in obtaining 5 of her 6 daughters from the Iowa Soldiers Orphanage where they had been placed after Milo Harvey died. They actually had to sign guardianship papers for Cordelia’s children and pay money to get them back. Francis was a father to all six girls besides the 7 children Cordelia and he had together. This man is one of the “SAINTS” I spoke of on my opening page.
Francis Arlando was the eldest son and child of Cordelia Day Gibson and Francis Marion Morford. He married Julliette Belle (EttaBelle) Lyon 1893 in Newman Grove, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Charles Lyon and Serena Viles.
