Nehemiah Sprague of Smithfield and Providence, RI was a farmer.
1738, August 12. Nehemiah Sprague, of Smithfield, for 800 pounds, deeded land and house given him by his honored father, William Sprague, 100 acres, to Thomas Walling.
1748, July 25. While living in Providence, he bought of Roger Williams, for 330 pounds, a lot in Providence, being a part of the lot on which the great Roger Williams had dwelt. Nehemiah deeded the same lot to Simson Hunt, December 28, 1748.

"    15.  William Sprague was born in 1691, and died in 1768.  He bore the title of captain in 1732.  He married first, 16 Sept. 1714, Ales Brown (History of Worcester Co., Vol. 1, p. 43); and secondly, in Smithfield 26 Aug. 1744, Mrs. Mary Walling.
He deeded land, 7 Dec. 1738, to son Nehemiah of Smithfield (Smithfield Deeds, Vol. 1, p. 413); on 15 Dec. 1740 to his beloved son and daughter, Stephen Sly and his wife Sarah Sly, both of Smithfield (Ibid., vol. 2, p.26); on 20 Dec. 1750 to son Joseph of Smithfield (Ibid., Vol. 3, p. 59); and on 16 May 1755 to son Joshua (Ibid., Vol. 3, p.59).
MY NOTES:  Capt. William Sprague's children are listed (4 of them) but without birth dates and without saying who the mother was - but, would think by the dates of the land deeds that all 4 of the children belonged to Ales Brown.  The four children were NEHEMIAH*, Joseph, Joshua & Sarah (mentions she was married to Stephen Sly).    * Nehemiah is my direct - vlww
