Reese Fisher's Story

Reese Fisher is our precious 3 year old son who happens to have DiGeorge Syndrome (aka deletion 22q11 syndrome or Velo-Cardio-Facial syndrome-VCFS). DiGeorge Syndrome is a serious genetic disorder caused by a micro-deletion in the long q arm of the 22nd chromosome. That means he is missing a very tiny piece of his 22nd chromosome. That little missing piece of chromosome has caused Reese to have a birth defect of the brain (Polymicrogyria) and a birth defect of the heart (Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia). The effects of these birth defects have been devastating to say the least. Sadly, these aren't the only complications Reese has as a result of DiGeorge Syndrome. What this child has endured and what he has yet to face is incredible and considered by some overwhelming. I see Reese's story as a miracle in the making.
