OUR ENEMYS ARMOR

What is his armor?

The Enemy's Armor:

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
(II Corinthians 11:14) (appearance like an angel of light)

Darkness
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)

Deception
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (II Thessalonians 2:10) His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and Fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity. ( Psalm 10:7)

Intimidation
When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid. (I Samuel 17:11)

Ignorance
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. (Hosea 4:6)

Confusion
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil (James 3:16) (I don't understand) (being confounded)

Doubt
(questioning)
And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? (Acts 2:12)

What are his weapons?

The Enemy's Weapons:
(in contrast to ours)

Lies
(deception and confusion)
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: ( Genesis 3:4)
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philppians 4:19) truth

Unrighteousness
(wrong thoughts)
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (II Thessalonians 2:10 )
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24)
righteousness

Condemnation
(accusation)
Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker? Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: (Job 4:17-18)
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:7) Gospel of peace

Fear
(worry, anxiety)
Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake.
Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up
(Job 4:14-15)
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind faith (II Timothy 1:7)

Destruction
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. ( John 10:10)
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, (I Thessalonians 5:9)
salvation

Another word
(traditions, opinions, doctrines)
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:6-8)
For the word of God is quick,
and powerful, and sharper than
any two edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing
asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart.
(HEBREWS 4-12) Word of God

Detractions
(entertainment, addictions, laziness)
And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines. And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife ( Judges 14:1-2)
Pray without ceasing (I THESSLONIANS 5-17) Prayer

What are his methods of attack?

General Methods:

Enticement (curious arts) Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. (Acts 19:19)

Oppression
(outside attack) (to press against, down, under) How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
(Acts 10:38)

Possession (The term "demonized" ) (mainly internal)
Unbelievers In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (II Corinthians 4:4)
Believers And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
(II Timothy 2:26)
(For Believers an evil spirit would only have access to the body and the soul mind, will, and emotions, and not the spirit of man which is the new creation.)

Specific Methods

He uses surprise How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations (Jeremiah 51:41)

He attacks at the point of our weakness. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (I John 2:16)

He attacks at the point of our strengths. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly (Romans 5:6 )

He uses aggression. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (I Peter 5:8 )

He steals the good seed of the Word. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. (Matthew 13:19 )

He sows tares (the children of evil) The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels (Matthew 13:38-39)

He inflicts disease. So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. ( Job 2:7)
He initiates death and destruction.

He brings accusations against believers. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. ( Revelation 12:10 )

He induces mental and emotional disorders. And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains (Mark 5:1-3 )
