Breeding Program We follow a specific breeding program for our females and only breed each female once per year - 18 months. Litters are generally rotated so that we have pups available in the spring and late fall. Allowing quiet time between litters ensures that only the best quality puppies will be produced and gives each of our females time to recover from the birth and nursing process. Our females are members of our family, not puppy mill breeding machines and their health and happiness comes first. Our pups are hand whelped and socialized by our family from the moment of birth until delivery to the new owners. Pups are usually weaned by their mothers at 5-6 weeks. Our Veterinarian removes the dewclaws and does an initial "vet check" at 1-3 days old and a repeat "vet check" at 6 weeks of age. We worm pups at 4 and 6 weeks and first shots are given at 6 weeks. Your puppy packet will include a record of care, along with AKC registration papers (full registration rights unless you choose otherwise), a copy of the parental pedigree, a bill of sale and a copy of our guarantee. These items are given to the new owners upon delivery or shipping of the puppy. We also provide new "parents" with a small amount of puppy's food. We feed and recommend Nutro Max dog food. Samples and coupons will be provided in your puppy packet. Nutro brand is available at PetSmart and many other fine retailers.
Stud Service We offer stud service with all of our males but reserve the right to deny anyone who we believe is running a puppy mill or who we believe has an inappropriate breeding program.
We require a negative Brucellosis test taken within 48 hours of breeding, a copy of the pedigree of the female, and references of the breeder requesting the service of one of our males.
Stud fees are listed on the description pages for each male. For chilled or frozen semen, additional veterinary fees are assessed for collection and packaging of the sperm.
