Worry

And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest?
Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet
If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is
Thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?
And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an
Anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your
Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all
These things shall be added to you. Luke 12:25-31

We worry about everything, but we should worry about nothing. Many of us seek the things that we worry
about like money “Will we have enough?” or we worry about our bills, but worrying about them won’t get
them paid. We need to seek after God and His
righteousness and all these things will be added to us.
Not seek Him just for the need that we have and then turn and go away from Him until we need Him again but seek after HIM and not the need, to be
honest I think we need the Lord more than anything on earth He is our greatest need. Instead of worry,
trust; trust that “My God shall supply our needs
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19
In our lives there are canyons that we have to cross,
sure there is a huge gap between you and the other side but that is where our faith comes in.
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by
sight.” Our sight may see the huge gap but our faith will see the cross that bridges that gap. We need to
walk over the edge and walk by faith and not by sight. Worry and fear may hold us back from taking
that step but if we seek after God and His kingdom and as we are seeking Him we walk by faith and not by
sight we’ll cross the canyon. Worry was not meant for you and me; it is a stumbling block that is in front of us set to trip us up.
God created us and He knows us from the inside and out, He even knows the exact number of hair that we have on our head.
He knows our needs and knows how to meet them. So if you have a need, do not worry about it but seek after the Lord and He will meet that need according to His
riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

RESPONSIBILITY
What are we responsible for?

1. Every thought 2Corinthians 10:4-5
2. Every word Matthew 12:35-37
3. Every deed (action) 2Corinthians 5:10
4. Every attitude 1 Peter 3:10
5. Every motive of the heart Jeremiah 17:10

1. Every Thought 2Corinthains 10:4-5
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal
But mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
casting down arguments and every high thing
that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought
into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

Every thought should be obedient to Christ.
As Psalm 94:11 says “The Lord knows the thoughts of man that they are futile.” God knows what we are thinking; He even knows what we are going to think before we think.
2. Every Word Matthew 12:35-37
“A good man of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things,
and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
But I say to you that for every idle word men may
speak, they will give account
Of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned.”

The words that we speak show our hearts weather good or bad.
Jesus said that a good man will bring out the good that is stored up
And an evil man brings out the evil that is stored up. The Bible says in James 3:6 that sinful words can spread destruction rapidly and the accompanying smoke can ruin everything around it.

3. Every Deed (Action) 2Corinthains 5:10 and James 1:22 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one
may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done,
Whether good or bad.”

We are responsible for our actions. For the believer’s we maybe the only Bible the lost will ever see, we are to be imitators of God (Ephesians 5:1) Our actions must be something that reflects Christ through us, no matter if it is in public or in private we are responsible for our actions.
James 1:22
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
We need to be to live out what we read in the Bible and what we believe.
Again we maybe the only Bible that the lost may ever read.
St. Francis of Assisi said, “Preach always if necessary use words.”

4. Every Attitude 1 Peter 3:10
“For he who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.”
Here in this verse Peter gave straightforward advise on how to experience that rich joy and fullness of life, even in the midst of a hostile environment. The requirements of the fulfilled life include a humble, loving attitude towards everyone.
There are 5 inner attitudes that can destroy us.
A. Anger Proverbs 29:11
B. Pride Proverbs 11:2
C. Jealousy Proverbs14:30, 23:17
D. Fear of people Proverbs 29:25
E. Conceit Proverbs 27:2, 28:11-13
There are 4 required attitudes.
A. Reverent spirit or attitude (Reverent meaning a Godly fear or respect.) Hebrews 5:7-8
B. Grateful spirit or attitude Psalm 62:5, Colossians 1:3
C. Servant spirit or attitude Mark 10:44
D. Quiet spirit or attitude Proverbs 14:1, Matthew 6:24, 1 Peter 3:4

5. Every Motive of the Heart Jeremiah 17:10
“I, the Lord search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”
God searches our hearts and minds and He knows what we’re thinking or what we’re about to do and will reward us according to what our conduct and our deeds are.

We are responsible and accountable for everything we do, say and everything that we think. What we say needs to give honor and glory to the Lord and be uplifting for building up each other in Christ. What we do needs to point to the Lord Jesus and our deeds needs to have Christ be seen through us. We are salt and light. We need to be salty enough to cause people to thirst after living water that is Jesus. And we need to be a light so that people can see the light of the world that is Jesus. One day every one of us will stand before God and will give an account of how we lived our lives on this earth. Remember we are responsible for for what we do and say. So stop and think "Is this what Christ would say?" Remember that we are ambassator's for Christ and we represnt Him.
