This is the Tournament Structure Page. Here, you can
learn about how Tournaments are ran and what the Rating System is all about.
1. Deck Lists
On Tournament day, you must e-mail me a copy of both of your Decklists that
you will be using in the Tournament.
2. What to bring
When playing in a tournament, you must have 1 Courage Deck and 1 Power
Deck. Each deck must have 67 cards (1 Theme, 6 Battlesites, and 60 cards
for Draw Deck) in it.
3. Starting Pairings
LoZ:TCG Tournaments will be on Card Table. I will then randomly
pair names of Participants and will announce the Pairings on the Special
Tournament Board on the Message Board Forum. The Paired people will now either IM one another
using a Chat feature over AIM (so that I can enter the Chat and do rulings) or
will connect Via Card Table.
4. Determining Who Goes First and what Deck to play
To determine who goes first, there are different features in Card Table
like Rock, Paper, Scissors or Roll a Die, etc. Use one of these features to
decide who goes first. Whoever goes first decides what Deck they want to play.
5. Time Limit
Each game has a time limit of two hours. In the event of a game still
going on when time is up, both players count their Triforce Points. The player
with the most Triforce Points gets a Timed Win.
6. 15 Triforce Points
From Playtesting on Card Table, it has come to my attention games go
slow. ONLY on Card Table Tournaments, will the Amount of Triforce Points needed
to win be 15 (It's still 20 TP in real life games).
7. Next Round
After the first round is over, I then call the next round's pairings.
8. Rounds Per Tournament
There are 4 Rounds (or games) per tournament with a Final Confrontation
between 1st and 2nd Place to determine the winner of the Tournament.
9. Final Confrontation
In the event of a TIE between First and Second Place at the end of a
Tournament, a Final Confrontation will occur. The
player that wins this game is the winner of the Tournament.
10. Prizes
There will be different prizes per tournament. Until the playerbase for
LoZ:TCG grows, 1st Place will only get a Prize, for the exception of everyone
getting Rating Points. Prizes include: LoZ:TCG T-shirts, access to a very rare and
special LoZ:TCG Promo card, the ability to design a card for an upcoming set,
and Points towards their Rating.
11. Point System
In a Tournament game, you are awarded Points. A Win gets you 5 Points, a
Timed Win gets you 3, and a Loss gets you 2. At the end of a Tournament,
Everyone's Points are totaled up to see who the 1st and 2nd Place players are to
go into Final Confrontation. After a Tournament is complete, I log everyone's
Points from First-Last Place into a special Points Standings Page in the
Tourneys Section of the website. On this page, you can see how many Tournaments
you've played in and your Point Total. An example is shown below:
| NAME | RATING | TOTAL TOURNAMENT GAMES |
| Chazz |
100 |
20 |
| Card Dreamer | 50 | 10 |
| Terin | 20 | 4 |
| Jonathan | 8 | 1 |
