2004 Chewie lost most of his hair due to chemo. We've been a team for almost 10 years. I don't know what I would do without him!
1998 Chewie had lots of hair! He has lymphosarcoma. He's near remission for the 3rd time. He's a fighter!

Welcome to my Website. I invite you to explore my world. It contains information about service dogs, sign language, resources for hearing loss, deaf resource links, my pictures, my credentials, my school and the program I'm taking. Currently I'm a part time masters student in an online program on adult education and distance education with the University of Phoenix. Upon graduation I will return to teaching at a local college. Click on the links below to read about the program and course descriptions. The purpose of this website is to fulfill a course requirement to develop my own webpage. I'm a deaf person. I was born into a hearing family who do not sign. I speak with my voice and my hands. I live in the suburbs out of Seattle. I am a Seattle native. I teach American Sign Language to hearing students. I share a lot of my own personal experiences with my students. My classes are in secondary, college, and or corporate level. I enjoy teaching others how to express their thoughts with their hands. It is my philosophy is to meet the students halfway by bridging communication. We go hand in hand signing. I have my own teaching business, Communication Bridge. Click on the link about Sign Language to learn more. If you have questions about hearing loss, hearing devices, etc. You can learn more by clicking on the Hearing Resources link. I do lots of public speaking about what it is like growing up deaf and my experiences with my certified hearing dog. I speak at schools, deaf clubs, senior centers, community clubs, corporations, etc. When I'm working, going to school, or out shopping at the store, I will have my certified hearing dog, Chewie at my side. We have been a team for almost 10 years. Chewie is almost 12 years old. He is an amazing service dog. He alerts me to the many sounds that I do not hear in the home and in public places. I love dogs and you can tell by the paw prints on my webpage. Click below on the links to learn more about Dogs for the Deaf and Hearing Dogs. I have a part time job at a local bowling alley as a party host, office help, vending machine stocker, and inventory control. It's a fun and busy job. Click on the link for my resume. I've been called a "Jill of all trades." I have many interests. Check out my Interests link. I taught my boss and co-workers how to use sign language because it is convenient to sign to me across the room, and it's great for business with deaf league bowlers and deaf customers. I enjoy educating people about deafness. There's so much information to share. Click on the Deaf Links to find out some of the resources available to you. I would very much appreciate feedback on how you rate this website. ~ Jodi and Chewie Peek in any window while you walk into my world.
