Everyone bids what tricks they feel they can make, Or go nil hoping to take no tricks A good nil would be + 100 points A set nil would be - 100 points. Most times you play with sandbag penalty on, which every trick you take beyond what you bid you get a bag and 10 bags gives you -100 points (play with a partner or alone)
MIRRORS
Everyone bids their spades, If you have no spades, you would bid nil (total table bid is 13) The object is to try and set your opponents. Every trick you take over your bid is a bag, 10 bags is -100 points if the sandbag feature is on. This can be played alone, but suggested with a partner.
SUICIDE
You play with a partner and one of you bid your hand, what you feel you can take, the other bids nil, hoping to take no tricks. -100 if your nil is set and +100 if you make your nil. Sandbags are usually played with this, 10 bags over the tricks you bid is -100 points (2 players are nil, 2 players bid their hand)
