Adoption fees are subject to change without notice. The Ketchum ASPCA is a non-profit organization that operates and exists solely on tax-deductible donations. The adoption fees offset only a small portion of the expenses incurred while the animals are cared for while awaiting adoption to approved homes. Our primary concern is to see to it that the animals are placed in suitable, approved and permanent forever homes.

Since we do not have TeleCheck, ChexSystems or similar check approval equipment available at our disposal as of yet, we are forced to ask certain personal information on the adoption application form that is needed in order to accept personal checks from families wishing to adopt from the KASPCA by means of personal checks. The information provided on the adoption applications are classified and will not be released or used in anyway other than previously stated. Your cooperation and understanding in this matter is greatly appreciated.

In order to adopt a pet from the KASPCA, you will need to complete an application for adoption. This not only protects our animals, but you as an applicant and the KASPCA, as well. We must insure that our animals are adopted to loving homes and will be well cared for.

Each applicant must be at least 21 years of age and have identification showing your present address. If you rent your home, you must be able to provide the name, address and phone number of the property owner and/or manager as well as provide a letter stating that you are allowed to have a pet at your residence. Most apartment complexes have rules and restrictions regarding pets. Please check with your landlord or property manager prior to adopting a pet.

The applicant must be willing and able to spend time with an adopted pet. It takes an average of two months for an animal to adjust to a new home. You must also be able to afford necessary training, medical treatment and proper care for the adopted pet. You will need to maintain your adopted pet in accordance with the licensing and other laws of the community in which you live.

No pet will be adopted to persons having a history of losing, giving away, selling or having animals injured or killed by moving vehicles. No animals will be adopted to persons who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on the adoption application. Applicants are legally bound by the terms of the signed adoption agreement and shall be subject to paying any legal fees incurred by the KASPCA of Delaware County, Oklahoma, in enforcing said agreement.

Upon adoption, you will receive a receipt of payment, as well as a form to be taken to the veterinarian of your choice, for the state mandated spay/neuter procedure, check up and shot updates. This form will then be returned to the KASPCA by the veterinarian after his/her services have been rendered. (In some instances, the spay/neuter procedure will be perfomed prior to releasing the pet to its new owners and all shots and wormers will be up to date at the time of adoption is finalized.)

Again, thank you for your interest, concern and support in the adoption precess and for giving these precious lives the second chance at a long and happy life they deserve.
