8 more Tea Parties coming to Waco.By Brian Collins WACO - TEA Party planner Toby Walker said Wednesday eight more tea parties will take place in Waco before the next presidential election after hundreds showed up to protest government spending Wednesday. "This is shocking to us because we did not expect this many people," said Walker. Thousands of protestors showed up at rallies across Texas including in Waco and in Belton. Some protestors were heard chanting "secede," at a TEA party in Austin. Protestors in Waco said the next step is getting voters out for the May election. "When you start bringing to the for front that you can actually become empowered by voting, what's going to happen is there's going to be a lot of people who never had interest (in politics) are going to start voting, and they're going to start waking up," said Joe Cline, a protestor at a Waco TEA Party. Walker said TEA Party coordinators across the county are forming a coalition to share resources. If politicians don't shape up, Walker is working to help new candidates replace them. "We're going to help people learn how to run for congress or local office," said Walker. Help them in that process whether they're republican or democrat and then we're going to be the watch dog say this is what they're spending your money on.
