"The hallowed nights, there are four. People of the Old
Faith still try to mark the rising and falling tides of
the year with respect. The Ancients saw the year in
terms of a great cold time and a great warm time,
a great balance. You must still track the sun
through the sky, and wait for it to move into one
of the great star houses and to open the gates of the
hallowed nights. Where we may slip throught the
cracks of dawn and dusk and enter into the Netherworld.
There to join the others at the great
sabbatstead on the Meadow.
Hallowmas~October 30-31 so begins a new year. The spirits of the dead can return. Travel is easy on this night between the worlds. Light your fire for the great tide of darkness has begun. For within darkness all things begin.
Candlemas~December 20-23 this is when we are in winters deep darkness. A rebirth is coming.
The Lady will be renewed and she brings wiht her blessings and promises of a summer to come and growth of
both land and spirit.
Belteine~May 1-2 the feast, which is opposite on the wheel year from Hallowmas.
The summer tide starts here. The Lady becomes pregnant from the Great Horned God.
Erotic is the time, this is. For this is the joining.
Leave an offering on this night. There can be danger afoot, so you must.
LammasThe decline of the light. The full bounty of the lady has been reaped and
what is givin demands something in return.
A sacrifice of wheat and wine must be made to the ground to ensure plenty will come again.
