"The People of the Old Ways are a very loosely woven group now. There was a time when there was no tight knit group per say, for the faith flowed into everyday life, and no distinctions were needed. In the very Old times, people did not see a difference in themselves, and the Ways. Each Village had their Wise-Wyf or Cunning Man.
You must understand that this is not a new order, for even long ago, the true wise-man or wise-wyf was always a solitary figure, only meeting each other from time to time to share knowledge, or to teach another the Art.
Further north, in the darker lands where the new faith was slower to take root, in the uplands and the outer isles, the People in one local area may still gather together in secret, in a group called a cuveen. The cuveen is led either by a man or a woman, called a Magister or a Dame, respectively. Regardless, some of the People may choose not to involve themselves in a cuveen, but they are unusual, and generally make this decision for safety's sake.
In older times, land-owners who were members of the Old Faith were often the Magisters of cuveens, for they held title to the land the gatherings were held upon. This was long before the Preist's of toady, any religion that is here, it is much older. We as a people, of this Old Way,are travelers between this world and others. We are connected with the nature around us,working through and with it.Serveing the Great Lady, The Dark Goddess, and The Horned Rider himself.Riding through the Darkness, and into the Light, above ground and below. This is no new concept,no new religion, we are followers of the Old Path,The Old Ways,The Ways of time,as the river flows, and the Cauldron well's up to bring forth birth. It is a way of life, not just a religion,a way we live.
