In watching CNN and the ever constant news headlines which consist of who's doing what with what money, and who is wrong, who needs to be blamed and how to fix it....it's still same old same old. People's income dropping, savings gone, job gone, house gone...is there anything that is positive about any of this? Yes there is....the biggest reality check we've had in a long time.

 The news media of course makes even the simple into a three ring circus....it's their job to keep those ratings up! I laugh at the way they explain it....like it's one of the biggest mystery's out there.....wow. Ladies and gentlemen, in this ring we have wall street, and in this ring over there we have the most astonishing, amazing, most horrific thing you have ever seen...people. Yes that's right folks, plain old people who worked hard and got no where. Some over spent themselves into a wondrous oblivion. Tickets, get your tickets!

So do we jump ship? It's been on brain.....get out of dodge! I'm not anti-American by any matter of means, but this is really screwed up, we did it this time......or more correcly...again. Nope, we can't lay all the blame on a President, nice scape goat though.......everyone always has used who ever got voted in as the new scape goat.....heck that's what the election is for! Vote the new fall guy in! It's the American way!

There is some great things, ok..possibilites out there, BUT major tweaking is in order. Car's that are powered by water......by the way we have done that, but then what would the oil tycoons do? We have the technology to do all these things, soooo ask why not?

Have we as Americans become to complacent to ask "why not"? Or have become sheep....and the sheep will follow....even if it's into a ditch.

Are you 'out there' or 'in there'? Are you out in the world or has the times we are in made you kind of a recluse? Me, it has made me drawn inward a bit. As the economic situation we are in, going out is too expensive so staying in has become the new norm. Know what? I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. Actually, being home has been one of the only comforting thing as of late. I have paid more attention to some household things (projects) that have been neglected for too long now and summer is some where out there.......so there's the yard too.

I think it's a 'grounding' thing. Getting back to the basics which was being home more, doing more home things and entertaining at home. Not bad.

Some times we tend to think that everything that is happing is only happing to us. I'm telling you "It's not about you". There are far more bigger things in play at all times, than the world crashing in on just you. I see so many people on these reality shows that go so far beyond self-centered it's not funny. I want to scream at these people "IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU". Oh they think it is.....but they one day will wake up sadly to realize that nope....it wasn't about them.

Handicap parent? Then you can't be a good one!

According to South Carolina court system....if your handicap, you ARE NOT A GOOD PARENT! Yep, that's right people...if your handicap, you just can not be a good parent! My friend who has MS is fighting the fight of her life. No, it's not her MS, it's for custody of her 5 year old Daughter! The grounds....... that she is not a good parent because she's handicap. Well...ya know....she has MS and all!

The MS society and all those other people like the ACLU....no help what so ever....they don't get involved in legal cases? Since when! It must be they only deal in very high profile cases that are news worthy. She has called them all, heck ...I have called them all......zilch! "were sorry, we don't offer that kind of help"......wonderful.

So in this country of right's and blah blah blah.....do we really have them? Are we really so fair? it seems we are....only when it suits us. So have right-ed ourselves into wronging everyone else?

Topic: DATING OVER 40

Dating in my 20's...oh so different from dating in my 40's.  I've done the bar scene, I've done the all nighters..and the I-hop breakfast at 4:AM, I've even done the 80's big hair (I miss that)

 Dating in my 40's.....Now? I like certain TV shows and don't like missing them. Bar hopping does not hold any appeal for me, neitehr does staying up all night.......I really hate feeling like crap in the morning. Spending hours checking out new clubs has given way to home improvement projects. Man hunting is no longer a sport, it has been replaced with other to-do list's....like cleaning the basement (ok, so that has been on this list for a year). I tried the online dating thing...let me stop you now, unless you want to go through a endless sea of needy, seedy and just plain nut jobs to maybe, possibly find a few that aren't crazy.

 Priorities change, we change (and should), but as I think of the future and being alone....it's not so scary. I know people just settle to keep from being alone.......but if we settle, are we cheating ourselves?
