Life in the slow lane
Mood:  lazy
Topic: LIFE

I know....the song is 'Life in the fast lane' but what if you slow down and live in the slow lane? No time like the present given the current situation. It seems that are normal summer vacations might be a bit out of reach this year, so take a home vacation! I know in every state, no matter where you live......there is some place really cool! A state park you haven't been to in a long time? A historic place or monument that you haven't visited yet?. A quick Google search will turn up all kinds of local discoveries. How about a haunted tour of local haunted places (that do not include your Mother in law's house)Sealed

If you really look and make a huge deal out of it for your family, this could be one of your best vacations ever! Pack a nice big day lunch with all kinds of snacks too! Make it special, remember your camera! When you return home you can make a scrap book. Family vacations used to mean not spending a huge bucket of money, but instead....just being together and having a good time with one another.21:48:03

Name: "Steve Anerson"

See, I think this is a great idea! I remember when our family packed up the car and saw America! I know road trips might not be on every one's list this year, but as you said there are plenty of places around where you live to go sight see, picnic and explore! If you do a search on local things, you will find a lot around your home town I bet that you haven't even seen yet! It might be a small place of interest that you have over looked, or a craft fair, antique show, festival or car show! There is no telling what is close to you until you check it out!

You can make it really cheap by packing your own food from home. You can also make a game out of a family outing by everyone placing a place to go in a hat and each person takes a turn drawing out a destination! That way everyone has input on the outing. You can also make a camp type outing at home by having some-mores and grilled food in picnic style dining. If you don't have a yard, there are plenty of grills at your local state park.
