The Old Oak
For me, the Oak tree's that surround my house are sacred as a representation of all that is living.
Their roots are sunk deep in the underworld below and their limbs reaching up to the universe as to touch the above.
It stands like a axis, strong and solid. It stands at once in both worlds, above and below. It is connected to both worlds and its world around it.
It is a part of the all. It can not live with out the rains or the sun,or the soil it grows in. It thrives because it is living in the all and feeding from the all.
As I touch its roughened skin and fell the lines of growth, I can also feel its energy. As I look up, I feel so
small compared to its great towering height. Wisdom is there in its trunk. The energy runs through my fingers as I hold its weathered skin,
its leaves play a song as the wind blows through them. The energy, like life's energy.......
the walk we are walking on this Earth is a teaching about the dance of energies. All energies speak to one another in some way. Energy follows thought.
We feel energy shifts in other parts of the world as surely as you feel the wind on your face. You must learn to use your own body to read energy.
As you hold this Oak, tenderly feeling this surge within you, take the feeling of its energy with you to dwell on, for it has much to teach.
