Elemental Magick

Now lets be really clear. The elements and their relations to the cardinal points are all relative, to the Witch, to his or her Gods/Goddesses, and to his or her homeland.

The Elements serve to bring the believer, the worshipper, the Witch into accordance with their homeland, should they be away from home.

If you are without a specific tradition, I strongly suggest you use your brain and your heart. Not all Witches use an elemental correspondence to the cardinal directions. What follows is a traditional breakdown of the four directions and four elements.

EARTH: the element of stability, the body, and the material. It represents strength, wisdom, prosperity and growth. It is at the heart of natural life, and is the foundation of fertility and stability. Earth is commonly associated with the North, Winter, Midnight, stone, and the color green. As an element, it is said to be strongest when the moon is in Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn.

It is also the element of authority and leadership. Fire is commonly associated with the South, Summer, Midday, the blade and the color red.
