06/22/10 - My apologies for being away so long, but I'm back in action and the action has been pretty good. I have had good catches of walleye in the bay at numerous locations, but high winds have been a factor. The end of the shipping channel has been good as well as east of the black hole. I have also had fair catches in the tight water off the Kawkawlin river mouth. Harness are working well, but the spoon action has been awesome. Also pulling in good numbers at both Callahan and Coreyon reefs. Reef runners and harnesses working in the shallows trolled slowly, and spoons are kicking walleye butt in the deeper water. I still have openings available, so call today at 989-430-8260. C'MON LET'S GO FISHING!!!
06/28/10 - Windy, windy, windy! Still had the chance to test out some crawler harnesses with squid skirts, and I am very pleased with the results. Could only fish the tight water today due to a very stiff breeze, but hoping mother nature will cooperate and the winds will subside soon. Tight water looks like chocolate milk, but fish the break where the water starts to clear and you will be able to box some eyes. The action is only going to get better, so book your charter soon. Give me call at 989-430-8260 and schedule a trip. C'MON LET'S GO FISHING!!!
07/02/10 & 07/03/10 - Still catching limits of ol' Mr. Marble Eyes, but they've been pretty scattered due to higher than average wind conditions. Persistence pays off if you can find a school and work'em. East of the black hole has been pretty productive in the bay, and the spoon program still pays dividends. Hoping the walleyes will group back up into larger pods soon. And I have noted lots of baitfish. So if the eyes are not biting, their stomach is full already. PATIENCE!!! Give me a call and book your trip now at 989-430-8260. C'MON LET'S GO FISHING!!!!!
07/18/10 - The bite's gettin' a little tougher. The water temp was eighty degrees plus the past few days, so the primary presentation has changed. The water temp has dropped down a few degrees (yesterday it was seventy five & today seventy eight), so the Hot-n-tot/crawler harness program has proven to be more effective than the spoons. Lots of baitfish, so the walleyes are feeding primarily on them and it's been a task trying to get a workable program. Fish are still scattered, but some have returned to the shallower water. Find the small schools of active feeders and stay on them! Work'em hard and you'll find that persistence pays off!! Still have openings so call and book your trip now at 989-430-8260. C'MON LET'S GO FISHING!!!
8/3/10 through 8/14/10 - Went to the west side to chase the kings around and managed to load up the freezer. Salmon are scattered everywhere in the water column. Thermocline was deep 80 to 90 feet down depending on where you were fishing. I went to Manistee and just about everything (glow spoons, J's & Silver Hordes, flys & paddles, & cut bait) seemed to work but there was no consistency. The bite was different everytime I went out. Most of the fish were out deep and in the top 60 FOW. Back on the east side now waiting for the eyes to come back into the Saginaw inner bay. Water temps are finally starting to come down. Perch action has been good out by the spark plug, but it is starting to slow down. Walleye action will pick back up soon and I still have openings available. C'MON LET'S GO FISHING!!!
10/30/10 - Well the charter fishing season for me has come to a close for this year. How depressing!! But I look forward to great season next year. I hope to see you back again in 2011! So firm up your dates and book your charter as soon as you can. Looking forward to hearing from you!! Tight lines!!
