Government Control of the Internet
Mood:  lazy
Now Playing: Hail to the Victors
If there is one thing that I have noticed about the government, it's that the reason they say they are doing something and the actual reason why they are doing something are usually completely different. I don't believe that the government should have the right read people e-mails and monitor their online activity. I understand there are things that go on over the internet that are against the law and should be stopped, but if the government is allowed to do this then where does the line stop. What stops the government from video taping are every move? If you have seen the movie "Enemy of the State" you know where I'm coming from.
I don't think that the government has a whole lot of control over the internet, and that is why I think they want access to peoples e-mails. There are a lot of crimes committed over the internet and I'm sure this bothers the government, but I don't think we should give away our personal privacy.
Personal information isn't safe anywhere. If a person wants to steal somebody's personal information off the internet they could do as quick as they could snap their fingers. However, your personal information could just as easily be stolen from a check you write, a credit card, and even your mail. The reward of stealing over the internet is a lot more and there is a lot more to be stolen. The internet is not as safe as people think it is. It's really the luck of the draw. Will your info be stolen or will it be some other random person's info.
