Spend 15 to 20 minutes reading the website called Wired Antarctica.

This website tells about life in a small American community of scientists in Antarctica. Especially look at the section about life in a small Antarctic town.

  • Did you learn anything new about Antarctica by reading the website?

1. Briefly introduce yourself and say where you saw the person's email address.
2. Write a paragraph about your impressions of life in Antarctica. Mention anything you learnt for the first time by reading the website. Give an opinion about something in particular from the page or respond to a comment from another message poster.

3. Ask a question about anything you still don't understand or want to know more about.

Week 2

Paragraph Writing
Would you like to live in Antarctica? Write an essay or a short paragraph explaining why or why not.

This kind of essay is basically an opinion piece. You must choose your opinion and justify your position with facts from the research you completed above.
