SHIRETOKO GIZOKU “SHABADO”
Shiretoko region (the East coast of Hokkaido) is one of those rare places in Japan where you can eat Steller’s sea lion
(a steak for 1,500Yen). The owner is proud of the taste and explains: “It is as soft as that of whale”. Even if you have
no occasion to go to Shiretoko, you may find a canned curry of sea lion at bigger souvenir shops in Sapporo. For a brave gourmand,
here is also raw meat of bear, venison and sea lion (1,000Yen). The noodle soup with bear meat (1,500Yen) is less shocking and may help you warm yourself especially in Winter.

Do you want to change yourself? Try to eat blowfish or whale. Don’t be anxious. The cook has a license to remove
