There are two rules in order to dance Yosakoi Soran.  One is that dancers must dance with "Naruko" in their hands.  The other is that the tune must include at least one phrase of Soran-Bushi, a traditional Japanese tune.  In addition, the team must consist of 40 to 150 members.  Except for these rules, teams can dance relatively freely.  For example, costumes are designed and made by each team.  Costumes is one of the factors that audiences come to see.
