FISH

It was a long day of my youth and after fishing and fetching lizards all day it was time for my friends to go home. I decided to fish some more using salmon eggs we had found earlier obviously discarded by someone else.
After only a few minutes I caught a fish, after reeling it in I, started the struggle of unhooking it. After some time I gave up and I set the fish in the water until it started to fight again pulled it out. Decided to run home so my dad could unhook it. Garbing the fish in one hand and my new Zebco pole in the other, I started to run home. Up the bank of the creek, in and out of the ruts around the big puddle I ran. I fell down I reached down to grab the struggling fish when like an evil fish on payback he stuck out his fins and got me. Even though the race was on, I had to save him.
I went under the barbed wire fence so fast I didn’t remember doing so. Across my neighbors’ yards and then the street into my yard I went in “Dad,” I called.
“What,” he ran over to me.
“I need this fish,” I took a breath, “unhooked.”
“Its gonna die,” he said.
“Not if I hurry”
“Okay.”
He unhooked the fish, handed it back, and kept the pole. I started my run back. I stopping at the large puddle to give it a little time in the water and hopefully give it some life. He seemed to move so my journey continued and I started to run again when I got to the creek I through him in only to see him lot back to the top with a sharp curve in its body.

DREAM

It is dark now and the moon light is the only thing separating me from a total loss of every thing around me that is familiar. Although my parents are talking and the TV down the hall are an eerie reminder that the world is still watching and waiting I cannot wait. Before I even realize what I am doing, I find myself standing in my doorway leaving the room. But I was stopped by an over powering feeling that surrounded, engulfed, and forced me to turn around. That is when I saw myself lying on the bed. I stood and watched like a deer that knows it is about to be shot. I could still hear my parents talking down the hall.
After only a few seconds I started to notice something I inched closer and closer only to see a light behind my eyes still I got closer until I felt apart of the light, once agin the temptress like call of the sirens beckoned me to turn around and look.
I was lost of anywhere with any kind of recognition trying to look around I found the immediate area was constantly changing. Turning around one more time I saw myself falling fast only getting faster then the world stopped.
Spencer was standing in the middle of some woods that anyone with any kind of sense would not go into, the trees were dark shadows with branches that reached toward the ground shunning the sky. Their wasn’t any sign of life at all the ground was bare and you could only see darkness beyond the immediate trees. He stood around at first and then started to move on like he had been there before and after only a short time he found someone. Someone who seamed out of place, his clothes were bright and his face smiling all though he looked stupid yet controlling.
“Hey can you talk this time,” he asked the oaf of a man.
“Some, what do you wish to know,”
“Where the land of choices is and if I can get there tonight,” Spencer slowed and dragged out the last word as if he were very sure he wouldn’t get an answer.
“You can,” the man pointed off in the opposite direction Spencer had already been traveling. With that he headed off once agin traveling in the direction the man had pointed. As he went further into the dark internal realm of this strange place the air only got warmer and more welcoming, some signs of life came about too in the dead leafs on the ground, until he had came to the place he sought, green trees grow around this place and the branches reached higher into the sky than any he had seen before. Time speed up briefly, he hovered like a demon on speed and he was standing in a room surrounded by boxes with lettering on them. When it seamed as if he had chosen one he picked it up and set it in the center of the room.
Taking a few steps back, the ground gave under his feet, slowly as if expecting the box to blow up at the sight of sudden movement and then he bolted toward it and jumped up over the box. His body contorted spun around shrank at the end closest to the box and he became apart of it covering and filling it. Where the box sat the ground gave completely and he still inside the box fell in the hole blue light surrounded him and he was let down gently into a room filled with everything but had nothing in site. Time seamed to pass once agin like their was all the time in the world condensed into one second and slowly Spencer got out of the box.
Walking in slowly was another man, who looked smart and beaten, calling out greeting, “Hello, master what can I do for you, you only have a short time left.” “How much time,” Spencer asked him in a manor that suggested unusual concern.
“It is undecided, what is decided is that you have very little time left,” hunching over, putting his arm up and saying every thing with a slightly shaky voice he waited for a reply.
Spencer paced looked up and said, ”I will free float in the woods surrounding my house.”
A familiar yet new and distant voice yelled, “Spencer!”
“Noooo, why know,” Spencer cried out.
The world stopped, everything froze and I felt myself being drawn closer to Spencer.
I was waking up, and it was over.
