Agility is a fun and very challenging sport. It is a fun way to let your dog run and play, and burn off the energy they need to get rid of, they can run and play in a controlled, and orderly fashion. Agility works your dog's mind and body. They learn to love it as much as you do.
When teaching Agility, we teach one obstacle at a time. When finished with the classes, the dog will be able to identify each obstacle . K-9 Kampus is proud to announce that we have purchased a regulation size agility course complete with tunnel, teeter-totter, and hurdles.
Agility obstacles are safe and well designed to keep your dog from sustaining any injuries. We train Agility with the DOG in mind. Your dog must be fully developed, both physically and mentally BEFORE you begin Agility training.
There are ten obstacles in a single course which the dog will be trained to manipulate in "a matter of seconds". During training as well as, during the actual Agility trial you must have your dogs undivided attention. Your dog will be taught to "keep one eye on you, and one eye on the course". Even though your dog will depend on your for guidance during the trial, he/she will also learn some independence in order to make mental decisions during the run of the Agility course.
Agility is a fun, exciting sport. There is a lot of tough competition out there, but with the proper training and commitment, you and your dog can both be winners. You are a team and he/she is your teammate. You are the coach, and the cheerleader all in one. Have fun and enjoy you partner and your PAL.
