Solar Eclipse

A Solar Eclipse is a Hopping Handstand. Before you can perform this you should defently be very good on your hands, be able to hold a Handstand with ease and be able to walk on you hands for a fair distance, not just like 3 steps, like 15-20.

Learning to Walk (On you Hands) : I personally found it alot easier to learn to walk on my hands than to just hold a Handstand, i could walk for about 10 steps before i could even hold a steady Handstand for 2 seconds. It all depends which feels more natural for you, try experimenting alot with leg positions, some people find it easier to walk with legs straight and together, some find it easier to arch your back and walk with legs over your back in a "C" type arch.

When learning i recommend using grass although it may not be flat it will be soft, i learned on a wrestling mat (a huge mat about 2 inches thick), that way it didn't hurt much, try to find the best surface you can, but you don't want you hands to sink into the surface otherwise it's really hard to get balanced on it.

Start by standing up, get the hand you will use to take your first step ready (whichever feels most comfortable), place it down first and as you place it down kick the opposite foot up into the air followed closely by your other foot. You should now be in the Handstand position, you may choose to stay here for a while and get comfortable with it or you may choose to start walking, the choice is yours.

When walking concentrate on keeping your legs in the most comfortable position, and don't let them flop around to much or it looks sloppy, always keep your legs (whichever way you put em) over your head a bit, if you lean your legs forward a bit it's alot easier to walk.

Initiating the Eclipse : Now that you have the walking and standing still down you can try hopping, get into you standing position, take a few steps forward on your hands if you need to get balance, as soon as you get still, kick with you legs and push with your hands, at first you will prolly only get 1 hop and then you will fall back into standing up, it takes a while to find the balance point.

The better you can walk and hold it the easier it will be to hop cause it will be more natural. My record is 18 consecutive hops, then my arms gave in, once you get hops REAL good you can even try to do a 1 Handed Eclipse (Hop), I have only ever seen 1 guy do this, POE from Style of Elements, it's NUTZ to see lemme tell ya, i can't do em at all, i fall after 1.
