WORK: THE EARLY YEARS

OSDH Building in the 1970s. I have pictures of the building before the parking garage was built.

John Drake, Service Chief, hard at work. Standing behind are me, Shelly Walker, and Mary Bateman.

Mary Bateman, Service Chief’s Secretary, retires. Mary replaced Patsy when she retired. Notice the owl note holder that she is holding – I made that – it’s needlepoint on plastic canvas. I use to be crafty.

Larry Trent back when he had hair.

Dennis Doughty, Staff Attorney

Mary Lou Martin. MLM was the first Permit Section Secretary (and you thought it was me!!!!). She worked from 1973 to November of 1983 when she retired.

Shelly Walker and me on Secretaries Day back when they called it Secretaries Day.

Patsy Jo Lisle working hard. Patsy was the Service Chief's Secretary. She has since passed.

Joyce Sheedy, Dennis Doughty, Nancy Pees Coleman, and Eva Ann McCann (E.A.) at EA’s 25th Anniversary party at the health dept. I don’t know who the guy in shorts is.

David Schutz, Brad Cook, EA, Gregg Guthrie, and Jeff Dye at EA's 25th Anniversary.

E.A. and Scott Thomas at her 25th Anniversary Party. I believe Scott is reading a poem he wrote just for her.

E.A. (Bonnie Countess Hewes is holding the cake). Bonnie worked in the lab and later for Kent Stafford. Bonnie also grew up in Guthrie.

Patsy, EA, and me.

E.A. and me.

Thomas W. Hudson congratulates EA on her retirement. Tom has since passed.
Nancy Pees Coleman, John Parry, and Dennis Doughty at another retirement party. John Parry has since passed.

Here’s Michael L. Doyle, enforcement/compliance officer, around 1977.

What’s this? A birthday party for me?

Is that Lil Nichols hiding behind the counter?

Anna Summers working hard.

Hal Wright's retirement party (2010).
