I wrote your name in the sand
but the waves washed it away,
then I wrote it in the sky
but the wind blew it away,
so I wrote it in my heart
and that's where it will stay.

~Our Story~

It was a cold winter night in 1999 the internet provided a good source of companionship during those lonely nights I found many new friends.  From all over the world I found myself to be part of a wonderful net family, to whom I'm closer with than a lot of my blood family.  Being 31, I never thought I would be lucky enough to find true love in a chat room. (Of all places)  But fate was to prove me wrong!

One night late in October I met Scott.  I think it was Halloween night when he came in to the chat room called Hot Messenger. Even though he only stayed a few short minutes and we exchanged where we lived, our age's, and what we did for a living, something about him made me go "wow" he seems too good to be true, I knew from that very first *chat* that he was a real southern gentleman and showed wonderful caring way's.  Many in the chat loved him.  The people all spoke so fondly of him.  I had him on my mind a lot over the next few weeks as we chatted more and more. He had WebTV at the time and I my computer, so we were limited as to where we could chat.  It was always in a chat room because he was unable then to have MSN messenger or ICQ and all the new stuff they now have out.

We began chatting more and more over the next few months and instantly connected. From that first time we have chatted every night since. We have shared trust, compassion, honesty, respect, and the most wonderful love. We just wish our path's had crossed sooner in life.

Finally I believe in March 2000, we talked on the phone for the very 1st time.  He had asked me many time's prior for my phone number but me being the quiet shy person that I am I kept him waiting.  In July of that year he had wanted to meet this Woman (ME) who kept him up late and caused him many sleepless nights. I was like "wow" he wants to meet me! I never dreamed in a million year's that I would have had that happen.  After our 1st meeting I had changed the way I looked upon life.  We were both so excited yet nervous at the prospect of meeting in real life for the very first time.

He left home and after about 5 hours of driving.  He finally arrived at the beach where we planed on meeting. I wasn't in the slightest bit nervous and as soon as I pulled into the "Blockade Runner Hotel Parking Lot" I recognized him right away sitting in his truck, in the rain with the biggest, cutest smile on his face. He got out and we hugged for the 1st time!  I could feel his love.  He was everything I thought he would be, and more!  We did a lot of smiling that weekend. Walked on the beach and drove around seeing the sights.  He was so caring and so loving that it took my breath away!  We are more in love with each other now more then we could possibly have imagined could ever happen.  It was all one big happy weekend for me and I believe he felt the same way!  We have spoken on the phone regularly since that very 1st meeting and met many times since then and each time I spend with him I treasure a little more.  He's everything I dreamed of and so much more.  He stole my heart I believe from that very 1st hello.  For those of you out there looking for love in your lives. NEVER give up hope! There is a love for everyone.  Just have faith in yourself and lots of patience.

"You cannot make someone love you,
you can only make yourself someone
who can be loved,
and the rest is up to them."

I hope and pray that you all have a happy ending as Scott and I have had.

Some Where Out There
from: "An American Tail"
by: - Linda Ronstadt & James Ingram -

Somewhere out there, beneath the pale blue night, someone's thinking of me, and loving me tonight. somewhere out there, someone's saying a prayer, then we'll find one another, In that big somewhere out there.

And even though I know how very far apart we are, it helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star, And when the night will start to sing a lonesome lullaby, it helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky.

Somewhere out there, if love can see us through, then, we'll be together, somewhere out there, out where dreams, come true.

A lonely Screen
by Sally

Who would have thought
You and I would meet?
In a room full of strangers
You swept me off my feet.

Words so tender and true
There on a lonely screen
Typing to a stranger
I've never even seen.

Personal information
Sharing thoughts so pure
Trusting every word
Even though unsure.

Giving of each other
In a way so strange and new
I never would have thought
That I could fall for you.

Learning something new
Each and every day
Speaking to a stranger
In a very friendly way.

Starting out as strangers
But soon the best of friends
Hoping every day
Our chats would never end.

Dreaming of how it would be
To look into your eyes
Dreaming of your smile
Just made me realize...

You were more than just some words
On a very lonely screen
You were now in my heart
More than I believed.

Time passed by so quickly
Strangers, we were no more
Holding on to each other
Not knowing what's in store.

For who could know a keyboard
Could hold so many dreams
A world of imagination
With very loving means.

So when your screen is dark
And you dream about the past
Remember it has given you
A friendship that will last.
