The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern
by Lillian Jackson Braun

Jim Qwilleran, journalist, recovering alcoholic, and former war correspondent, initially knows nothing about art, antiques, and interior decorating. But for the sake of his craft - and his paycheck - he's willing to learn. One of the nice things about the Cat Who series is we get to learn right along with him.

Having read over a dozen of the series, each time I pick up one, I ask, "Where does he live in this one?" For batchelor Qwill is not the type to stay in one place too long, especially when he gets evicted.

In The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern, Qwill lucks into a house-sitting gig in the luxurious apartment of entrepreneur Harry Noyton. Or is it so lucky? True, its the perfect hub for his beat on The Daily Fluxion's new home decorating magazine. But one disaster after another points in the direction of sabotage: first a burglary, next a police raid, and then one of his neighbors s found shot to death. The only possible witness is Koko, Qwill's Siamese. And he's not saying much. Or, is he?
