Kat's cheap chair idea-
heres how to make a fold out metal chair or fold out sports chair into a cute furry one!
- get a chair, the fold out metal kinds are cheap..you could even use one of those fold up sports chairs that are like 7 bucks!
- buy furry fabric at a craft supply store. buy as much fake fur as you'll need to cover up the seat pad and the back piece. *it might be smart to buy extra fur becuz you'll probably think of a way to use it on another project!
- for the metal chair- put the furry fabric on top of the cushion and turn it over. hot glue the fabric hanging off of the edges back onto the back of the seat. pop the seat cushion back into the chair. now cut the exact size you'll need to cover the back part of your chair and hot glue (or sew, if the back is made of something you can sew it one with) that right on top of the back.
- cut the fabric to the exact size of the back of the chair. hot glue or sew the fabric to the back of the chair. now cut the exact size of the seat of the chair out of the fur and hot glue or sew it onto the chair. for the sports chair- you might have to cut little sqares out of the corners of the bottom piece before you stick it on since there are probably plastic pieces that connect to the corners.
- you could do this to an office chair, too!
Kat*s furry ottoman-
- find a square box that is the height you want for your ottoman
- buy furry fabric, see illustration below. you need to buy a yard or more, depending on how big your box is.
- next, crumple up newspaper and stuff it in your box until you box is packed full. tape your box closed (packaging tape works best).
- get your furry fabric and lay fur-down on the floor. now put your box at the very top, in the middle (thats important). trace around the box with a pen. next, put the box right below the square you made on the fur and trace again. now trace a square to both sides of the second square. then trace one square right underneath the middle bottom square, and another one below that. *Kat*s Note- if your box is so big that you run out of room on the sides, trace two more boxes on your leftover fabric and just glue them onto the sides of your box
- get out the hot glue gun! glue the fabric, starting with the middle, to one side of the box. next glue the sides and the top to the box. be careful so everything goes on just right. now fold the long piece up and glue one of the traced squares onto the leftover side and then fold it over and glue it to the top of the box.
- there ya go, an ottoman!
