I am what I am ...

  • I am a born Virgo. I believe that a thing of beauty is a joy for ever. Don't you see beauty in the flowers and butterflies, plants and trees, moon and stars, springs and valleys, brooks and rivulets, hills and fields?

  • In this advanced age of atomic bombs, satellites and supercomputers, I have a greater regard for the older verities and values. I do not live by bread alone but by beauty and harmony, truth and justice, work and recreation, sincerity and devotion, art and literature, love and friendship, inspiration and worship. A great writer has truly remarked: "The eternal things remain: human love, the pursuit of truth for its own sake, the appreciation of beauty and the creation of new beauty. Each day that we live can be a day of glory and each generation has its new witnesses to the glory of God."

  • So dear cyber friends! I am receptive to all that is good and gorgeous, charming and graceful in life. The innocent faces of children, the creations of artists, the sweet and melodious songs of singers, the lyrics of poets, the wisdom of sages, the eloquence of orators, the holiness of saints, the revelations of Prophets, the biographies of great souls, the mystery of faces, and young men and women with resilence of mind, variety of interests and generosity of emotions have always captivated and fascinated me.

  • I can't live without poetry. Urdu is my national language in which I have been writing poetry since my school days. Most of my poems have been published in various magazines. Now I have started English poetry. Wordsworth, Shakespeare, Keats, Browning, Milton, and among Urdu poets Mir, Ghalib and Iqbal, the great poet-philosopher are my favourite poets. At the same time, I crave for music that is highly valuable for me as it brings refinement of feeling and character as well as preserves and restores my health. Through music my soul gains harmony and rhythm and even disposition to justice; for "Can he who is harmoniously constituted ever be unjust?"

  • By the grace of Allah, the Al-Mighty I have an intelligent and amiabl daughter, Seemeen and a well-behaved, discreet and diligent son, Sohaib. Both of them are married and blessed with kids. My son has three daughters and my daughter has two sons. And I am living with my son and his family. My wife left me in this mortal world on July 20, 2006.
