My Ship

Hi, this is an image that I was given and would like to share with you.

I saw my life as a ship of which I was the captain. Something had happened in my life experience that had made me choose to seek refuge in a 'safe' harbor. It is only in retrospect that I now see that this 'safe' harbor was under the shadow of a large mountain. And the shadow of that mountain was the cost of its safety.

The sun still shone but I couldn't feel it. It couldn't get though the shadow. Soon I made myself believe that this was 'normal' and fell asleep to the alternative reality of warmth, comfort and joy. My 'normal' was this cold and uncomfortable 'safe' place. The longer I stayed the more normal it became, but inside me I was dissatisfied.

Then one day the internal discomfort became too great to be ignored any longer and I made up my mind, or allowed myself to acknowledge this dissatisfaction. The next thing I knew I was headed out of the harbor.

The vastness and opportunity of the ocean was beautiful. All the other boats stayed in the harbor. They were o.k. there, it was me who didn't belong.

I now can see the horizon ahead of me. There is no trail of where others have gone or been, no markers, and as amazing and unfamiliar as it is I find myself comfortable and aware that I am back in my own element. As unknown and uncharted as it may be, I know this is where I belong.

I know that, because I am the captain, I am the one who will chart the course of my ship. But she is a sturdy one and I have confidence that she will take me where I want to be. And I truly believe that I will know where I want to be whenever I get there. There are many strange lands to explore and many adventures to live and I look forward to each and everyone of them.

If and when you choose to leave the harbor, don't worry that you don't know where you are going. The ideal in this life is to experience the adventure. There will be many ports of call to visit, and at each you will find the provisions you need for the next leg of your journey. What matters it that you made the choice to strike off on your own path.

If you are like me you will quickly come to realize that you don't need to do anything else, the opportunities come to you. This world is like a beautiful garden, take what you need, accept what you are comfortable with. There is abundance here for all. Don't take more than you need, and have faith in the knowledge that there is always more than enough, there is abundance.

Namaste my fellow traveller

Much Love and Joy
